The tenacious OC star Mischa Barton was in Dublin where she told the story of how she once cut bog turf on her uncle’s farm in Co Roscommon, Ireland.
The 26-year-old stunner, whose own mother is from Roscommon, spent many childhood holidays in the Midlands of Ireland before hitting the big time playing troubled teen Marissa Cooper in the legendary TV series ‘The OC‘ which began in 2003 and spawned MTV’s own block buster the ‘Laguna Beach’ reality series.
“Mischa Barton cutting turf, might sound properly ridiculous to people but trust me, on my uncle’s farm in Roscommon everybody pitched in.”
“I loved holidaying in Ireland and we were here pretty often,” Mischa Barton said.
The glamorous and pouty Hollywood star was in Dublin to launch an Irish stage version of ‘Steel Magnolias’ with actress Anne Charleston, better known as Madge Bishop of Australian soap ‘Neighbours’, which opens in Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre on September 10th before touring Ireland.
