Ireland will win one gold medal and four medals overall at the upcoming London Olympics, according to an analysis conducted by investment bank Goldman Sachs.
By observing a range of economic data and analyzing performance at previous Olympic games, Goldman has produced a forecast medal table for the 2012 games.
Ireland's predicted four-medal haul would be just one more than they had attained at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Goldman ranks Ireland 46th in the medal table.
It predicts the talent from the United States of America will be the big winner with 108 medals overall, followed by China with 98 medals.
