He’s a purveyor of his own unique traditional, toe-tapping, sing-along Irish folk music. Christy Moore is a vintage Irish balladeer who played his moving pieces of music at The Button Factory in Dublin’s Temple Bar area tonight to a packed house. My wife and I completely loved the show and Christy has such a vast array of music in his vault that after two and a half hours non stop where at times you could have heard a pin drop, you know he’s got more he hadn’t even pealed away yet.
They played many of his well known songs and everyone in the audience sang along. The atmosphere was relaxed and we all loved it. There were several standing ovations and Christy and his friends came back on stage to play a few more for an encore.
On stage he had a world-renowned Irish harp player, a uilleann piper and a flutist…each playing with a fluidity, wonderment and charm you would expect from a Christy Moore concert.
We hope to see another one of his shows soon to see Christy tap into more of that tremendous music library and irresistible Irish conscience.
