After a 27-year hiatus, Kevin Rowland has added a fresh new line-up of band members for his hugely popular Dexys Midnight Runners.
They’re calling it the music comeback of the year. Kevin Rowland – the infamously intense frontman of early-Eighties pop – has convened a fresh line-up of his legendary band, Dexys Midnight Runners, after a 27-year absence.
He has chosen to return, not with the customary greatest-hits tour, but with a new album, called One Day I’m Going to Soar, which incorporates the best elements of their three landmark albums from all those years ago.
This month, Rowland, ever the challenging artist, chose to unveil this new work in full at four shows across the UK where Dexys Midnight Runners received a standing ovation each night.
We wish Dexys all the best as their 1982 hit “Come On Eileen” can still get people out of their seats at even the most demure of St. Patrick’s Day parties.
