Ireland’s Katie Taylor wallops Russian capturing fourth win

She looks like a butterfly but stings like a bee – Irish boxing sensation Katie Taylor has captured a fourth consecutive World Championship after beating Russian Sofya Ochigava.
In a hard-fought, cagey contest the Bray, Co Wexford native edged out her opponent by 11 points to seven.
Ms Taylor had already secured a coveted place at the London Olympic Games.
Ireland’s President along with the Prime Minister have been among those paying tribute to Katie Taylor after her victory in China yesterday.
Ms Taylor made an addition to her trophy collection by picking up the over all best boxer award at the 2012 Women’s World Boxing Championships in Qinhuangdao, China.
The award is presented to the best boxer across all ten weight divisions, in the opinion of the judges.
The award further enhances the 25-year-old’s reputation as the best boxer in the world.

After landing at Dublin Airport yesterday, her coach and father said Katie will be resting for about ten days before jumping back into training for the Olympics.
