Irish animation was under the spotlight since RTE and Monster Animation are both Irish companies, and French based awol animation is managed by Irish born Julie Fox.
This years awards show took place in Poland, with over 700 producers, broadcasters and investors in attendance.
The Cartoon Forum is a co-production forum, where European producers can negotiate financing for new animation projects. The Forum combines trailer presentations, working sessions and business meetings with opportunities for socialising and sightseeing: the relaxed setting of the Cartoon Forum has become an intrinsic element for the whole European animation industry.
The purpose of the Cartoon Forum is to foster co-productions and accelerate financial connections. The Cartoon Forum allows co-productions to be finalised, pre-buys agreed, negotiation of distribution agreements, options discussed on every type of right, and licensing of secondary rights.
Over 450 projects, with a total budget of more than 1.5 billion EUR, presented at the Cartoon Forum have secured their financing and are now in production or already broadcasted worldwide.
